Gifted Wood series. I learned to carve on organic, imperfect logs, wood with opinions of its own, and only came to geometrically perfect blanks later. Maybe that is why geometry still feels like a playground to me instead of a rule. This piece returns to my favourite argument: the difference between a square and a circle. A concave top, squared-off sides, a triangular base; three geometries negotiating one small form. The texture is crying out to be touched. And the mahogany itself is like staring into the ocean: the depth goes down and down and does not stop.
