Why this one exists

In St Vital, someone cut down a Siberian elm and left the logs at the end of the driveway, in the spot where people leave things for the garbage to pick up. The gates were locked and I couldn't get to the door, so I waved at the window, pointed at myself, pointed at the pile, pointed at my car, shrugged, and drove off with four pieces.

I always give the first bowl to the people who gave me the wood, even when they didn't know they had, so a week later I went back and knocked. They were very surprised, and very gracious about the wood thief. This is another piece from that same elm.
